LACTATION EDUCATION

The Whole Mission breastfeeding service prepares you to breastfeed your baby. Breastfeeding topics covered in the class include Theology of the Body, benefits, getting started, learning latch and positioning techniques, as well as options for using natural family planning while breastfeeding (does not include formal instruction in the Marquette Method), and overcoming common lactation challenges. Information on pumping and storing expressed milk, nutrition for the nursing mother, starting your baby on solids, and the weaning process will also be discussed.
